Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (May 17, 2023) – The Region 18 tournament is over for the No. 12 Salt Lake Community College softball team, albeit not with the results SLCC fans were looking for.
 
SLCC lost a 7-1 decision to the College of Southern Idaho in Wednesday's Region 18 championship game, falling behind early and never recovering. Salt Lake is now 42-12 overall.
 
CSI jumped out to an early 5-0 lead, prior to the Bruins scoring in the sixth inning on a Brightyn Turner RBI single. That was all the offense SLCC could muster though, compared to Southern Idaho posting 11 hits.
 
Bailey Marvin and Trinity Benson both went 2-of-3 in the game for Salt Lake. Taylor Hagen had a strikeout in her pitching loss.
 
Salt Lake will now await to see if it will earn an at-large bid in the upcoming NJCAA tournament.
