Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (March 4, 2023) – The second day of Scenic West Athletic Conference play went well for the Salt Lake Community College Softball team.

Facing in-state rival USU Eastern in Colorado, the Bruins moved to wins of 8-6 and 24-6 to end the series with a 3-1 victory. Salt Lake is now 9-6 overall and 3-1 in Scenic West play.

SLCC will host Colorado Northwestern in a series at Norma Carr Field next weekend.

Salt Lake 8, USU Eastern 6: A late flurry of scoring helped the Bruins earn the win.

USU Eastern build a 5-2 lead after the third inning, with SLCC then scoring six unanswered runs through the middle innings to take a lead they would relinquish. The Bruins also benefitted from six USU Eastern errors in the win.

Bailey Marvin went 1-of-4 in the game, finishing with two RBI's.
Tiffany Hermansen earned the pitching win, throwing five innings in relief.

Salt Lake 24, USU Eastern 6: A big inning helped the Bruins earn a run-rule win to close the series.

It was USU Eastern who took an early lead, with the Bruins then powering forward with five runs over the middle innings. Salt Lake then scored 13 runs in the sixth inning, closing out the competition in style.Â

SLCC had 14 extra-base hits, with
Lyndsey Madrigal hitting three home runs. Madrigal went 5-of-5 at the plate, while
Bailey Marvin hit a pair of home runs and went 3-of-3.Â
