Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (February 19, 2023) – The preseason is over for the Salt Lake Community College Softball team.
 
SLCC concluded its preseason schedule with a doubleheader in a Texas tournament Sunday, falling in losses of 8-0 and 10-2 to McLennan Community College. The defeats drop the Bruins to 6-5 overall.
 
Salt Lake will open Scenic West Athletic Conference play on March 3 at USU Eastern. 
 
McLennan 8, Salt Lake 0: A rough loss started the day for SLCC.
 
The Bruins posted just a single hit in the loss, with Chloe Woods hitting a single. McLennan had a pair of home runs in the game.
 
McLennan 10, Salt Lake 2: A fast start didn't hold up for the Bruins in the tourney finale.
 
SLCC held a 2-0 lead through two innings, with Alyssa Mighell hitting an RBI double to contribute. Unfortunately, McLennan went on a late run, scoring seven runs in the third inning to take a lead it would never relinquish.
 
Mighell went 2-of-3 at the plate to lead the Bruins.
