Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (January 28, 2023) – A Vegas tournament closed in success for the Salt Lake Community College Softball team Saturday.

SLCC concluded a strong performance in a preseason tournament hosted by the College of Southern Nevada, earning a sweep in Saturday's two games. The Bruins posted an 11-3 win against Eastern Arizona to open the day. SLCC finished the day with a 13-2 over Chandler-Gilbert. Salt Lake is now 4-1 overall.

The Bruins will have an off week, then will travel to Texas for a tournament in mid February.

Salt Lake 11, Eastern Arizona 3: A pair of big innings lifted the Bruins to a run-rule victory.

SLCC trailed 2-1 entering the bottom of the fourth inning, scoring six runs in the breakout inning.
Mikelle Anthony hit a three-run home run in the frame, with
Brooklyn Pintar hitting a two-run triple.

Taylor Hagen earned the pitching win, throwing four innings and allowing just a single earned run.

Salt Lake 13, Chandler-Gilbert 2: SLCC earned its second run-rule victory of the day, again thanks to two big innings.

Bailey Marvin hit a two-run double in the top of the third inning, then
Brooklyn Pintar posted a two-run double later in the frame. Then in the fifth inning,
Lyndsey Madrigal hit a three-run home run. Marvin followed up with a solo home run.Â

Marvin and Madrigal both went 2-of-3 at the plate.Â
