Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (May 7, 2022) – The Salt Lake Community College Softball team finished off a sweep of an in-state rival Saturday, setting up the program with momentum heading into next weekend's Region 18 tournament.

SLCC earned victories of 4-3 and 5-2 at Snow College, moving to 4-0 in the final series of the season. The Bruins have now officially clinched the No. 2 seed in next week's Region 18 tournament, sitting with a mark of 28-12 in Scenic West Athletic Conference games. SLCC's regular-season record was 35-15.

Salt Lake will travel to play next week's Region 18 tournament at Southern Idaho next week, opening play on Wednesday.

Salt Lake 4, Snow 3: A late Snow College rally came up short in the SLCC win.

SLCC held a 2-0 lead midway through the sixth inning, with Snow then scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 3-2 lead. The Bruins responded with a pair of runs in the seventh inning as
Lyndsey Madrigal hit a two-run double.

Alyssa Mighell went 2-of-3 at the plate to lead Salt Lake.Â

Salt Lake 5, Snow 2: A dominant pitching performance by
Teya Gasu lifted the Bruins to a win.

Gasu threw a complete game, surrendering just a pair of runs in seven innings while also striking out three batters.
Trinity Benson also posted a strong performance at the plate, going 3-of-4.Â

SLCC scored early in the win, posting a pair of runs on a
Hola Nakayama double. Nakayama had a multi-hit game for the Bruins.Â
