Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 14, 2022) - The No. 3 Salt Lake Community College Men's Basketball team returned home for a non-conference matchup with a nationally-ranked foe Monday, completing the matchup with an impressive victory.
SLCC earned a 101-94 win over No. 20 Florida SouthWestern inside the Lifetime Activities Center, pulling away in the second half after both were tied at halftime. The Bruins are now 4-0 with the victory.
Both teams were tied at 57-57 after the opening period, with SLCC slowly pulling away in the second half and leading by as many as 11 points. Offense was strong for both teams as Salt Lake shot 51.6 percent from the field (32-of-62), and shot 47.4 percent from three-point range (18-of-38).
Alejandro Vasquez led SLCC with 28 points, going 7-of-11 from three-point range.
Jaquan Scott scored 22 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including a perfect 6-of-6 from the foul line.
Hunter Erickson posted 19 points.
Salt Lake will host a tournament this weekend, facing off against Western Nebraska on Friday and Eastern Wyoming on Saturday.
