TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (August 2, 2021) - An alumnus of the Salt Lake Community College softball program has recently completed a stay on the world stage.
SLCC alum Tarni Stepto recently completed her time competing in the Tokyo Olympics, with Stepto playing a critical role for Team Australia. Stepto earned NJCAA All-America honors while playing for Salt Lake, also earning Region 18 Pitcher-of-the-Year.
Stepto's highlight performance came in a 2-1 loss to the United States on July 25. Stepto was the starting pitcher, throwing 7.1 innings while striking out a trio of Team USA batters. She played in all but one of Australia's games in the Tokyo Olympics.
Stepto has performed in multiple international competitions for Team Australia, including two junior world championships. She notably threw a no-hitter in the 2017 World Championship tournament.Â
