Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 18, 2021) - Great teams will take on eager challengers many times during a season, with the pressure of perfection growing with each game.
The No. 1 Salt Lake Community College Men's Basketball team faced one of its strongest challengers of the young season Thursday, taking on No. 11 New Mexico Junior College. SLCC earned a close 69-67 win over New Mexico, moving to 7-0 with the victory.

With the game tied at 67-67 in the final seconds, Salt Lake's
Jordan Brinson hit the game-winning shot at the buzzer to preserve SLCC's undefeated season. Both SLCC and New Mexico went back-and-forth throughout the game, with seven ties and seven lead changes. Salt Lake's
Max Watson hit a late three-point shot to tie the game, setting up Brinson's heroics.

After the game, Bruins coach
Kyle Taylor commented on the competitive nature of the game.

"We were very fortunate to pull out a win against a very talented, big and physical New Mexico team that didn't quit," he said. "They were terrific tonight and we were just good enough to pull it out. That was a fantastic game between two very good teams."

Festus Ndumanya both scored 15 points to lead Salt Lake, with Ndumanya also posting 10 rebounds.
