Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 16, 2021) – Good times continue to roll for the No. 5 Salt Lake Community College Women's Soccer team.
The Bruins earned a 2-0 win over No. 9 Butler Community College, taking the lead in Pool D. SLCC is now 15-3-1 overall, currently sitting on a nine-match winning streak.
After a scoreless first half, Salt Lake scored a pair of goals in the second half to earn the NJCAA tourney win.
Aly Starbuck opened the scoring in the 49
th minute, posting a goal on an
Anna Pinegar assist.
Cecilia Norman then added the comfortable edge in the 83
rd minute, scoring on a
Mary Santiago assist.
In a game that was full of action, SLCC held a 20-10 edge in total shots, with 7-4 margin in corner kicks. Bruins goalkeeper
Katrina Gardner finished with five saves in the win.
Salt Lake will face off against No. 4 Iowa Western on Wednesday. If Salt Lake wins, the Bruins will advance to the NJCAA semifinals Friday. SLCC can still earn its way into the semifinals with a goal differential lead at the end of Pool D play.
