The Bruins moved to 3-0 in the Scenic West Athletic Conference under first-year coach
Kyle Taylor, picking up a strong 81-72Â win over in-state rival Snow College. The road victory powers the Bruins to 16-4 overall, as part of their first-place status in the league standings.
Taylor discussed the fortitude his team showed on the road in his postgame comments, praising the maturity of the Bruins.
"That was a gutsy, gusty win for our guys," he said. "I'm very, very proud of what we did tonight. Snow is tough and well-coached, and plays so hard. This was a good test for our guys."
SLCC led narrowly at the end of the first half, 40-38, as momentum and energy traded back-and-forth. Physicality assisted Salt Lake in the second half, as did good free-throw shooting, as the Bruins were able to down 11-of-14 attempts on their way to outscoring Snow 41-34 in the second half. The tale of the game was told in the 16 times the game was tied, along with the 8 lead changes.Â
Spencer Johnson led the way for the Bruins, posting 17 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field and a perfect 6-of-6 from the line.
Asa McCord also went 6-of-6 from the line and scored 16 points, while both
Adam Hess and
Justice Hill scored 12 points.Â

Salt Lake will play on the road again Thursday, traveling to face in-state opponent USU Eastern. The Bruins and Eagles will tip at 7:00 p.m. in Price.Â
