TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 22, 2019) - Fresh off a four-game sweep of USU Eastern, the No. 8 Salt Lake Community College softball team has earned another individual honor from the Scenic West Athletic Conference.

Bruins pitcher Tarni Stepto was named as the league's Pitcher-of-the-Week after a sterling performance in the circle for SLCC. The Australian native had two wins in a four-game SLCC sweep that boosted Salt Lake's overall record to 36-6 overall and 28-4 in the Scenic West.

Stepto had an outstanding overall weekend but shined particularly brightly in the pitching circle. She pitched 12 innings with an ERA of 0.58, allowing just 12 baserunners while striking out 21 batters. USU Eastern's batting average against Stepto was .122.

Salt Lake will host a four-game series against in-state rival Snow College this weekend at Norma Carr Field. The two teams will play doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday. Live stats for the series will be available on www.slccbruins.com.
