Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (December 7, 2019) – The warmth of the Florida sunshine will stay with the No. 24 Salt Lake Community College men's basketball team a little bit longer, thanks to a Saturday victory to end a Sunshine State tourney.

Playing their final game in a tournament hosted by Eastern Florida, the Bruins earned an 84-75 win over Pensacola State College to finish the tourney with a mark of 2-1. The win boosts SLCC's overall record to 10-3.

Kyle Taylor said his team battled for the victory.
"We escaped," he said. "It was not our best performance, but our guys fought and battled and found a way.
Dylan Belquist hit two big shots down the stretch to help seal the win.
"Our defense the last 6 minutes was very good and we made some big plays and shots. We're happy for this win and ready to get back to Salt Lake City."
Salt Lake scored 50 points in the second half to seal the victory.
Spencer Johnson finished with a team-high 20 points, while
Justice Hill scored 18 points.
Christian Popoola scored 12 points to also finish in double-figures.Â

Salt Lake will play a pair of games next weekend, facing off against Impact Academy and Tohono O'Odham College in a home tournament. Friday's game against Impact Academy is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start inside the Lifetime Activities Center.Â
