Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (December 5, 2019) - The first game of December proved to be something to celebrate for the No. 24 Salt Lake Community College men's basketball team.
The Bruins upped their winning streak to a season-high 6 games with an 80-61 victory over Florida State College at Jacksonville Thursday, kicking off a tournament in Florida in grand fashion. The win boosts SLCC's overall record to 9-2.
Salt Lake played consistently throughout the game, combining defense with a strong offensive attack. A trio of Bruins finished in double-figures on the game, with
Spencer Johnson finishing with a team-high 19 points.
James Lee scored 16 points and
Ed Chang had 14 points in the win. Lee went 8-of-9 from the field in the game.Â

Kyle Taylor said several players played important roles in the win.

Dylan Belquist for stepping up when we needed them. We've preached our depth all year and tonight we really saw that. Those guys brought good energy off the bench and were instrumental in our win."
Salt Lake will play on Friday at 5:00 p.m. against Eastern Florida State College. The Bruins previously earned a 90-51 win over EFSC earlier this season in a tournament hosted by Snow College. SLCC will close the tourney with a Saturday game against Pensacola State College.Â
