TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (August 22, 2018) - The Salt Lake Community College women's soccer program opens its third season of NJCAA competition Thursday.
Salt Lake will open the 2018 campaign at home against Western Nebraska on Thursday, with a match on Friday against Northwest College. Both matches are scheduled to be played at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman, home of the Real Monarchs.
Coming off a winning 2017 season, the Bruins are hoping that 2018 will be a launching pad for them as they hope to gain more traction in the Scenic West Athletic Conference. This week's matches will serve as the start of a five-match preseason for the Bruins.
Western Nebraska went 1-14 last season, with their lone win coming against Northwest College. Northwest College went 0-10 last season.
SLCC will play all five of its preseason matches at Zions Bank Stadium. The SWAC home opener will come on Sept. 14, as the Bruins host USU Eastern.
