Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (May 11, 2018) - All season long, it seemed as if the battle for the Region 18 softball title would inevitably come down to a matchup between Salt Lake Community College and the College of Southern Idaho.

The two programs battled to an extra-innings duel on Thursday, sending Salt Lake into a losers' bracket game Friday morning. The results on Friday mirrored Thursday night's duel, with Southern Idaho earning a 6-4 victory over Salt Lake.
Southern Idaho took an early 1-0 lead, with Salt Lake scoring three runs in the third inning.
Sara Bendt delivered a critical two-run single, lifting Salt Lake to a 3-1 lead.
