No. 18 Bruins prepare for Snow College series

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 18, 2018) - The No. 18 Salt Lake Community College softball program is operating in uncharted waters.

After leading the Scenic West Athletic Conference standings for much of the season, Salt Lake now finds itself in second place in the league standings at 21-7, trailing league leader Southern Idaho by three full games. With only three series remaining in the season, the Bruins are in need of urgency, starting with a road series against in-state rival Snow College.

The Bruins swept the Badgers in their first meetings this season, earning run-rule, double-digit victories in two games. Unlike those games, this weekend's series will be played on the road in Ephraim, where the Badgers are 9-3 on the season. Snow College sits at 22-15 overall and 14-13 in league standings.

After starting the league season at 18-3, the Bruins have gone 3-5 since. Salt Lake still leads the league in offense, hitting .422 on the season and averaging 10.31 runs per game.

Salt Lake's four-game series at Snow will start on Friday at 1:00 p.m., with the second game following after. Saturday's games will start at 12:00 p.m.

NOTES: Two Bruins signed during the week at four-year programs, pending completion of their careers at Salt Lake Community College. Bruins outfielder Lauren Tycksen signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, while Sara Bendt signed to play at Northern State University.
