TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (March 7, 2018) - The No. 2 Salt Lake Community College Bruins softball program is still searching for the consistency that's become a hallmark of their program.
Salt Lake is 8-7 overall and 2-2 in the Scenic West Athletic Conference, results that showcase how the team is still searching for a common theme to build around this season. The Bruins have won and lost games on offense, they've won and lost games on pitching; what Salt Lake hasn't lost though is a confidence and belief in the process that team has build its national reputation on.
After going 2-2 against the College of Southern Idaho in a series that was supposed to be played at home (played instead in St. George), the Bruins are headed out for a true road series, facing off against USU Eastern on the road. The Eagles are 4-0 in league play after sweeping a series from Colorado Northwestern, and sit at 9-5 on the season.
On a statistical note, Salt Lake has the league's highest fielding percentage through last weekend's games, posting a rate of .956. USU Eastern has the league's lowest batting average, posting an average of .274.
Friday's doubleheader at USU Eastern will start at 1:00 p.m., with Saturday's doubleheader starting at 12:00 p.m.Â
