Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (February 10, 2018) - The No. 2 Salt Lake Community College Bruins fell in their final game of the FPU Classic, losing 3-2 to Florida Southwestern College in Saturday's finale.
Salt Lake took an early lead in the game, plating a run in the top of the first inning as
Lauren Tycksen scored on a wild pitch. However, FWSC came right back with a run in the bottom half of the inning, eventually scoring two more runs in the fifth inning.Â
Trailing 3-1 entering the top of the seventh inning, Salt Lake was able to get a Tycksen RBI single to score
Ashlee Anderson, cutting the deficit to one run. Unfortunately, Salt Lake wasn't able to move the winning run across, with
Ashlee Snyder grounding out to end the Bruin rally.
The Bruins are off until March 2, the date of a scheduled Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheader with the College of Southern Idaho. Salt Lake will play four games in the series against CSI, which will also serve as the home-opener for the Bruins at Norma Carr Field.Â
