SLCC Women's Soccer planning to continue SWAC rise against Snow

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 20, 2017) – What a start to the season its been for the Salt Lake Community College women's soccer program.

The Bruins are at a program-best 6-1, riding a win streak that began on Sept. 2 with a 3-1 win over nationally-ranked Iowa Western. Since then, the run the Bruins have been on has been absolutely staggering, starting Scenic West Athletic Conference play 4-0.

The numbers speak for Salt Lake's dominance, as SLCC has a 44-0 goal differential in conference play and has earned individual conference honors over the past two weekends. Also, Salt Lake is settling in to an aggressive style of play that is about taking advantage of opportunities when presented.

Bruins head coach Mark Davis said the SLCC women's squad is settling into form well entering the stretch run of SWAC play.

The stretch run of SWAC play will surely begin this season, as the Bruins prepare for Snow College to journey to Salt Lake for a conference double-header weekend. The Badgers are a perfect 5-0 on the season and are nationally-ranked. They are coming off a weekend sweep of Colorado Northwestern, earning 16-0 and 12-0 victories over CNCC in their two matches this past weekend.

The buildup and win streaks between two accomplished programs means the Bruins are in for a tough weekend, according to Davis.

Friday's match against Snow College is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at the Taylorsville Campus, while Saturday's match against the Badgers is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Live stats can be found at slccbruins.com.
