TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (October 18, 2017) – The Salt Lake Community College Bruin women's soccer team is attempting to finish the regular season on a high note, finishing with an improved Scenic West record in the program's second season of existence.
Â
The Bruins currently sit at 9-4-1 overall and 7-3-1 in SWAC play, an improvement from the 2016 season where SLCC finished league play at 6-1-5. The Bruins will try to add another win to the column Thursday, as they host league rival College of Southern Nevada in the final match of the regular season.
Â
Bruins coach
Mark Davis said the program is proud of its improvement over the course of a season.
Â
"This women's team is a special one," he said. "The players are really dialed in and want to win for the sophomores on Thursday."
Â
SLCC had bumps in the road over the past weekend, falling to in its last two matches to in-state rivals USU Eastern and Snow College. Before those bumps in the road, the Bruins had posted a three-match win streak, including a goal differential of 24-0. Now the Bruins will attempt to defeat an opponent who they downed 10-0 and 3-0 in matches earlier this season, with those matches against CSN taking place in Vegas.
Â
Thursday's match against the Coyotes is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start. Live stats will be available on slccbruins.com, and a recap of the match will be available later that evening on slccbruins.com.
