No. 16-ranked SLCC Softball team (5-4, 3-1 SWAC) picked up a doubleheader sweep against Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponent Colorado Northwestern Community College (1-3, 1-3 SWAC) on Thursday at Little Valley.
The Bruins eased past the Spartans
15-0 in game one, using a 10-run second inning to notch the run-rule victory. SLCC topped CNCC in run-rule fashion again by a final score of
11-3 in game two behind a six run first inning.
SLCC out-hit the Spartans 15-3 in the day's first game and 15-5 in game two of the doubleheader.
Game 1 – Stats vs. CNCC: Freshman pitcher
Courtney Platt (Riverton, UT) picked up the shutout win with seven strikeouts, three hits allowed and two walks in a complete-game, five inning effort.

Rianna Splinter (Las Vegas, NV) was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a double, a two-run home run, a walk, a stolen base and three runs batted in (RBI) as the designated hitter. Freshman catcher

Megan Reed (Pocatello, ID) was 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI.
Game 2 – Stats vs. CNCC: Freshman pitcher
Paige Reimann (South Jordan, UT) picked up the win with two strikeouts, four walks, four hits and three runs allowed (all earned) in 2.2 innings of work. Freshman pitcher
Baylee Reeves (Brigham City, UT) struck out two Spartan batters with no walks, one hit and no runs allowed in 2.1 innings in the circle.
Splinter was 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in the first inning and

Cyndee Bennett and the Bruins is a doubleheader vs. SWAC opponent North Idaho College (4-3, 0-0 SWAC) on Friday, Feb. 7 at the Canyons Complex in St. George, UT. First pitch for game one is slated for Noon with game two beginning 30 minutes following the conclusion of the first contest.
