Coeur d'Alene, ID—The SLCC Men's Basketball team (22-5, 9-3 SWAC) eased past Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) rival North Idaho College (NIC) (18-10, 5-8 SWAC) on Thursday night at Rolly Williams Court. The Bruins completed a 3-0 regular season series sweep of the Cardinals with Thursday night's road victory.

SLCC out-rebounded NIC 37-27 and shot 49.0 percent from the field in the winning effort. The Bruins were 4-for-12 from three point range and made 17 of 20 free throw attempts. NIC finished at 38.5 percent shooting and went 21.0 percent from beyond the arc.

The Bruins remain in second place in the SWAC standings behind No. 2-ranked College of Southern Idaho (CSI) (26-2, 12-1 SWAC) with three games remaining on the conference schedule.

Stats vs. NIC: SLCC freshman forward Neal Monson (Sandy, UT) scored 10 points and completed a double-double with 12 rebounds. Freshman guard De'Sean Parsons (Sacramento, CA) added 18 points and four rebounds and sophomore forward Kurtis Toolson (Gilbert, AZ) led all scorers with 20 points and grabbed six rebounds.

Sophomore guard Gary Payton II (Las Vegas, NV) tallied 12 points to go with five rebounds.

Head Coach Todd Phillips and the Bruins will play their final regular season road game of the year against CSI on Saturday, Feb. 15 in Twin Falls, ID with tipoff slated for 5 p.m. CSI leads the regular season series with SLCC two games to none.
