Bruins sweep season series with Snow, enter Region 18 Tournament with four straight wins

Ephraim, UT—The
No. 6-ranked SLCC Softball team (44-9, 38-6 SWAC) picked up a pair of Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) victories over in-state opponent Snow College (23-25, 21-24 SWAC) to close out the regular season on Saturday.
The Bruins won game one 6-4 after trailing 4-3 in the top of the 7
th inning. SLCC claimed a 4-2 decision in game two and swept the season series with the Badgers 8-0.
Game 1 SLCC Stats: Sophomore pitcher
MaCauley Flint (Roy, UT) struck out eight Snow College batters to pick up the win.
With SLCC trailing 4-3, sophomore infielder
Maddy Woodard (Murray, UT) gave the Bruins the lead for good with double that brought two runs across the plate in the seventh inning and was 1-for-3 at the plate.

Lyndsey Healey (Spanish Fork, UT) was 2-for-4 with a double and one run batted in (RBI) and sophomore outfielder
Lauren Hager (Sandy, UT) was 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI.
Game 2 SLCC Stats: Freshman pitcher
Kailey Christensen (Spanish Fork, UT) picked up the win.
Woodard was 3-for-4 at the plate and
Healey was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Freshman infielder
Lauryn Kirschner (Kaysville, UT) was 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI in the winning effort.

Mary Kay Amicone and the Bruins will enter the Region 18 Softball Championships May 8-11 in Twin Falls, ID as the
No. 2 seed. The Bruins will face
No. 7 seed Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) (5-46, 4-42 SWAC) on Wednesday, May 8 at 2:30 p.m. SLCC swept the season series with CNCC 8-0.
