West Jordan, UT—The SLCC Baseball team (26-14, 14-10 SWAC) dropped a pair of Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) home games to Western Nevada College (WNC) (29-16, 14-11 SWAC) on Saturday, losing game one 9-3 and game two 4-3.

SLCC freshman pitcher Brady Corless (Spanish Fork, UT) took the loss in game one with eight strikeouts and three earned runs allowed in five innings of work. Freshman infielder Zach Watts (West Jordan, UT) was 2-for-3 at the plate with one RBI and sophomore catcher Nathan Fishel (Littleton, CO) was 1-for-3 with one RBI in the losing effort.

Bruin sophomore pitcher Rhett Nelson (Lindon, UT) took the loss in game two with three strikeouts and four earned runs allowed in 6.1 innings pitched. Freshman outfielder Connor Williams (South Jordan, UT) went 1-for-3 at the plate with a solo home run and sophomore infielder JC Snyder (Salem, UT) was 1-for-4 with one RBI. Sophomore outfielder Bryan Heward (Ogden, UT) was 1-for-2 with a run scored and a walk.

Next up for Head Coach DG Nelson and the Bruins is a road doubleheader against SWAC rival Southern Nevada (28-9, 16-4 SWAC) on Friday, Apr. 12 at 1:00 p.m. in Henderson, NV.
