West Jordan, UT—The SLCC Baseball team (26-12, 14-8 SWAC) lost a pair of Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) matchups to Western Nevada College (WNC) (26-16, 13-11 SWAC) on Friday at Cate Field. The Bruins dropped the day's opening game 5-3 and were topped by the Wildcats 11-1 in game two.

Sophomore pitcher Rhett Parkinson (Wellsville, UT) got the start and struck out five WNC batters and allowed two earned runs. Sophomore pitcher Dane Fuller (Castle Rock, CO) took the game one loss with three earned runs allowed in 0.1 innings of relief.

Freshman outfielder Zach Watts (West Jordan, UT) was 1-for-3 at the plate with a solo home run in the losing effort and sophomore infielder/catcher Bo Fisher (American Fork, UT) was 1-for-3 with a double and one run batted in (RBI).

Freshman pitcher Anthony Dixon (West Valley City) took the loss in game two with four strikeouts and four runs allowed in 2.2 innings of work. Sophomore outfielder Steven Adam (Tecumseh, ONT) was 1-for-2 with the lone hit in the contest for the Bruins and freshman outfielder Connor Williams (South Jordan, UT) was 0-for-1 but tallied the only RBI for SLCC in game two.

Next up for Head Coach DG Nelson and the Bruins is another doubleheader against WNC on Saturday, Apr. 6 at Cate Field. First pitch is slated for Noon.
