Coeur d'Alene, ID—The No. 4-ranked SLCC Softball team (32-3, 26-2 SWAC) split a pair of Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) road games with North Idaho College (NIC) (12-22) on Saturday, winning game one 9-0 and dropping a 2-1 decision in game two. The Bruins won the season series with NIC 7-1.

Sophomore pitcher MaCauley Flint (Roy, UT) picked up the game one shutout win with four strikeouts and allowed just one hit to NIC. Sophomore outfielder Malia Campos (Murray, UT) was 2-for-3 and sophomore infielder Maddy Woodard (Murray, UT) was 1-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs. Sophomore catcher/first baseman Lyndsey Healey (Spanish Fork, UT) was 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI in the winning effort.

Freshman pitcher Alex Petrolia (Henderson, NV) took the loss in game two with four strikeouts, five hits and no earned runs allowed. Healey was 1-for-2 with the lone RBI for SLCC and freshman infielder Lauryn Kirschner (Kaysville, UT) was 2-for-3.

Next up for Head Coach Mary Kay Amicone and the Bruins is a SWAC doubleheader against Western Nevada College (8-28, 5-18 SWAC) on Friday, Apr. 5 at Bruin Field. First pitch for game one is set for 1:00 p.m.
