Roy, UT—The No. 3-ranked SLCC Softball team (27-4, 21-1 SWAC) improved its streak to seven straight victories with a doubleheader sweep of Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponent Colorado Northwestern CC (CNCC) (0-22, 0-22 SWAC) on Friday.

The contests were moved to Roy High School due to unplayable conditions at Bruin Field as a result of recent snowfall. The Bruins outscored the Spartans 23-0 in the pair of ballgames and had two players hit multiple home runs.

Bruin sophomore pitcher MaCauley Flint (Roy, UT) threw a perfect game in the day's opening matchup, striking out 10 CNCC batters to bring her season total to 151 strikeouts. Sophomore infielder Maddy Woodard (Murray, UT) was 3-for-3 at the plate with a pair of home runs and four RBIs. Sophomore catcher Susan Duke (Salt Lake City, UT) was 1-for-2 with a home run and three RBIs.

Freshman pitcher Ashley Kay (South Jordan, UT) allowed just one hit in the game two win over the Spartans, striking out six batters. Sophomore infielder Whitney Holt (Tooele, UT) was 4-for-4 with two home runs and four RBIs and Woodard was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Sophomore outfielder Malia Campos (Murray, UT) was 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Next up for Head Coach Mary Kay Amicone and the Bruins is another doubleheader against CNCC on Saturday, Mar. 23 with a Noon first pitch. The contests will be played at Bruin Softball Field on the SLCC Taylorsville Redwood Campus.
