Carson City, NV—The No. 17 SLCC Men's Baseball team (10-6, 4-2 SWAC) split a pair of road contests against Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponent Western Nevada College (13-7, 1-3 SWAC) on Friday. The Bruins won game one 3-2 and lost in game two 9-0.

In game one of the doubleheader, sophomore pitcher Rhett Parkinson (Wellsville, UT) picked up the win with five strikeouts and two runs allowed in six innings of work. Sophomore pitcher Justin Rupe (Bountiful, UT) picked up the save.

Sophomore infielder JC Snyder (Salem, UT) was 1-for-3 with a single and sophomore utility player Palmer Page (Saratoga Springs, UT) was 2-for-3 with a double in the winning effort.
Sophomore infielder Sam Goold (St. George, UT) was 1-for-3 with a three run home run.

Sophomore pitcher Mike Springer (West Jordan, UT) took the loss in game two and freshman outfielder Jordan Leinweiber (West Jordan, UT) was 2-for-3 with a double in the losing effort.

Next up for Head Coach DG Nelson and the Bruins is another doubleheader against Western Nevada on Saturday, Mar. 2 in Carson City, NV. First pitch for game one is slated for 10 a.m.
