St. George, UT—The No. 1-ranked SLCC Softball team (14-3, 8-0 SWAC) completed a four-game sweep of Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponent North Idaho College (NIC) (3-8, 0-4 SWAC) by picking up a pair of wins over the Cardinals on Saturday. The Bruins defeated NIC 7-0 in game one and eased to a 13-2 victory in game two.

In game one, SLCC sophomore pitcher MaCauley Flint (Roy, UT) picked up her fifth win of the year, allowing just two Cardinal hits. Sophomore infielder Maddy Woodard (Murray, UT) went 2-for-4 at the plate with 2 RBI in the winning effort.

Bruin freshman pitcher Ashley Kay (South Jordan, UT) earned the win in game two, with fellow freshman pitcher Kailey Christensen (Spanish Fork, UT) picking up the save. Sophomore catcher Susan Duke (Salt Lake City, UT) was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with 2 RBI and a double and sophomore outfielder Malia Campos (Murray, UT) was 2-3 with an RBI and a walk.

Next up for Head Coach Mary Kay Amicone and the top-ranked Bruins is the team's first set of home games, a doubleheader against Western Nevada College on Friday, Feb. 15 at Bruin Softball Field. First pitch for game one is set for 1 p.m.
