Rangely, CO—The
No. 7-ranked SLCC Men's Basketball team (25-3, 13-1 SWAC) clinched its first outright Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) regular season championship since 2001 by defeating Colorado Northwestern CC (CNCC) (7-22, 0-13 SWAC) 100-73 on Thursday. The Bruins out-rebounded the Spartans 38-25 and had five players score in double figures in the road victory.
By clinching the SWAC regular season title, the Bruins will be the
No. 1 seed heading into next week's
Region 18 Basketball Championships in Coeur d'Alene, ID. SLCC will have a first round bye.
Bruin sophomore guard
Skyler Halford (Orem, UT) led all scorers with 18 points on the night and freshman forward
Sai Tummala (Phoenix, AZ) added 13 points in the winning effort. Sophomore guard
Tyrell Corbin (Salt Lake City, UT) tallied 12 points and freshman guard
Gary Payton II added 11.

Todd Phillips and the Bruins is the last game of the regular season as SLCC will square off with USU-Eastern (14-15, 4-10 SWAC) on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 5 p.m. in Price, UT. SLCC is 2-0 against USU-Eastern this season.
