SALT LAKE CITY, UT—The No. 17-ranked SLCC Men's Basketball team (5-0) picked up its fifth straight win to start the season with a 93-82 victory over non-conference opponent Western Wyoming Community College (WWCC) on Saturday at the Lifetime Activities Center.

The Bruins shot 55.1% from the field and forced 18 Mustang turnovers in the first home game of the season for SLCC. WWCC went 11-for-20 from three point range but could not overcome an 11-point halftime deficit.

SLCC went 32-for-39 from the free throw line and shot 38.9% from three point range on 7-of-18 attempts from beyond the arc. Six Bruins reached double figures scoring in the contest.

Stats vs. WWCC: Bruin freshman forward Neal Monson (Sandy, UT) led the team in scoring with 16 points to go with nine rebounds and two blocks. Sophomore forward Kurtis Toolson (Gilbert, AZ) added 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting and sophomore guard Gary Payton II (Las Vegas, NV) turned in 11 points with eight rebounds and a pair of steals in the winning effort.

Sophomore guard Jaden Jackson (Salt Lake City, UT) scored 12 points and went 3-for-3 from three point range and sophomore guard Collin Woods (Scottsdale, AZ) finished with 10 points.

Next up for Head Coach Todd Phillips and the Bruins is a road trip to Twin Falls, ID for a matchup with Casper College on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at the CSI Tournament. Tipoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.
