TWIN FALLS, ID—The
No. 17 SLCC Men's Basketball team (6-1) defeated Western Nebraska Community College (WNCC) (4-2)
91-72 on Saturday at the Wright Physical Therapy Shootout hosted by the College of Southern Idaho.
The Bruins led from start to finish, out-rebounded the Cougars 50-36 and grabbed 20 offensive rebounds in the winning effort.
Stats vs. WNCC: Sophomore guards
Jaden Jackson (West Jordan, UT) and
Collin Woods (Scottsdale, AZ) each turned in 17 points.
Jackson went 5-for-10 from the field and was 3-for-5 from three point range, and
Woods finished at 5-for-11 shooting.
Sophomore guard
Gary Payton II (Las Vegas, NV) tallied 12 points on 50% shooting and made two of his three attempts from beyond the arc. Sophomore forward
Kurtis Toolson (Gilbert, AZ) had five assists and six rebounds as SLCC claimed its sixth win of the season.

Todd Phillips and the Bruins is a road trip to Rock Springs, WY for a matchup with Western Wyoming Community College (WWCC) (4-4) on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. SLCC defeated WWCC 93-82 on Nov. 9 in Salt Lake City.
