Coeur d'Alene, ID—The No. 11-ranked SLCC Men's Basketball team (19-3, 7-1 SWAC) had its 15-game win streak snapped by No. 13-ranked North Idaho College (NIC) (21-3, 8-1 SWAC) by a final score of 87-78 on Saturday. Foul trouble was costly for the Bruins in the ballgame, with NIC making 25 of 32 free throw attempts compared to just 15 of 17 for SLCC.

The Cardinals out-rebounded the Bruins 38-28 and won their sixth consecutive contest. The loss moves SLCC into second place in the SWAC, a half game behind NIC.

SLCC freshman forward Sai Tummala (Phoenix, AZ) scored a team-high 20 points to go with five rebounds in the losing effort. Sophomore forward JuWan Buchanan (Seattle, WA) tallied 15 points with two rebounds and sophomore guard Skyler Halford (Orem, UT) added 13 points and four assists for the Bruins.

Next up for Head Coach Todd Phillips and the Bruins is a home game against Colorado Northwestern CC (7-15, 0-7 SWAC) on Thursday, Jan. 31 at Bruin Arena. Tipoff is slated for 7:35 p.m.
