SLCC Athletics would like to thank the golf teams, celebrity golfers, sponsors, volunteers, staff and student-athletes involved in making the annual SLCC Scholarship Golf Tournament at TalonsCove Golf Course such a resounding success!

In all, 30 golf teams hit the links with us at beautiful TalonsCove on June 19, and we raised $34,200 for SLCC's vital athletic scholarships! Local celebrities like Utah Jazz television play-by-play voice Craig Bolerjack, Jazz analyst Ron Boone, ABC 4 sportscaster Wesley Ruff, the Salt Lake Tribune's Kurt Kragthorpe and renowned professional golfer Billy Casper shared stories, laughs and golf with SLCC student-athletes, staff and charity golfers.

Former Utah Jazz Head Coach Frank Layden hosted the event, and with his trademark humor he took the podium as donated gifts were raffled off to lucky winners during a luncheon after the tournament. The SLCC coaches, administrators and student-athletes had a great time and left the event with an overwhelming feeling of support and positivity. We're already excited about next year—special thanks to TalonsCove Golf Course for a spectacular event, we hope to see everyone back for more fun in 2013!
