St. George, UT- The second ranked SLCC Softball team earned two wins today by defeating North Idaho 10-5 and 11-2 to open conference play. The Bruins totaled 30 hits in the double header with three home runs and four extra base hits. The double header wins moves the Bruins record to 11-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
Salt Lake exploded for an eight run sixth inning to defeat North Idaho 10-5.
Malia Campos was 4 for 5,
Maddy Woodard went 3 for 5 and Meagan Nielson was 3 for 4 with two doubles and a two run home run.
Tanisha Anderson sent her third home run of the season over the fence to finish the game 1 for 3.
In game two the top of the SLCC order was 7 for 11 with six RBI's in the game.
Trina Gomez was 3 for 3, Campos was 2 for 4 with three RBI's and
Maddy Woodard was 2 for 4. Savannah Webster was 1 for 3 with two RBIs and Anderson connected on her fourth home run of the year.
No. 2 Salt Lake (11-2, 2-0) returns to the field tomorrow for a double header contest verses North Idaho at noon in St. George, UT.
