Bruin Softball Clinches Region 18 title with sweep of CNCC

Salt Lake City – The second ranked SLCC Bruin Softball team took the four game sweep of Colorado Northwestern.  Salt Lake outscored CNCC 39-2 in the four game series hitting seven home runs.  The four game sweep moves Salt Lake's record to 49-7 overall and 41-3 in conference play. 

 

In the first two games of the series Salt Lake held CNCC scoreless over ten innings of play.  Ariel Zimmerman struck out eight batters in three innings of work while also hitting a two run home run.  Shay Wallace went 2 for 3 with a double in game one and Meagan Nielson went 2 for 3 with two doubles.

 

On Saturday, in games three and four Salt Lake scored in bunches winning 9-1 and 11-1.  Becky Simonsen was 5 for 6 in the two games and Krystin Jachim finished the four game series going 7 for 11 with two home runs, two doubles and 11 runs driven home.  Kylee Brinkerhoff, Kylee Bufton and Zimmerman knocked solo home runs in the two games while Starlee Hutchings blasted a two run home run going 2 for 2 with three RBIs.
