SLCC Baseball battles back to win the Region 18 Title

CARSON CITY, NV- The Salt Lake Community College Baseball team upset the top seed Western Nevada with two clutch wins in the Region 18 Championship games.  Salt Lake took game one 18-9 and shutout Nevada in game two winning 2-0.

In the first game Salt Lake scored 10 runs in the second inning to win 18-9.  Braden Anderson was 2 for 6, Sean Moysh was 3 for 4 with a homer and Scott Manning was 3 for 4.  Jordan Hager picked up the win in relief throwing five innings allowing one run.  The win forced a second game to determine the champion.

In the second game of the day the game remained scoreless until Salt Lake jumped on the board when Kyle Bilbrey walked, stole second base then Sean Moysh drove home the go ahead run.  Dominique Taylor drove home Moysh to put Salt Lake up two.  That is all the SLCC bullpen would need closing out the game with a shutout.  Adam Gunn threw six innings allowing no hits and AJ Carmen got the save going two innings.

The Bruins move on to the District Championship where the winner of that series moves on to the NJCAA National Tournament.
