SALT LAKE CITY –The top seeded Salt Lake CC Bruins advanced to the Region 18 softball championship game with a 6-4 win over Southern Nevada. Salt Lake scored all six runs in the second inning and Ariel Zimmerman struck out eight.
Kylee Brinkerhoff went 2 for 3 with a triple and an RBI, Krystin Jachim was 1 for 3 with two RBI and Shay Wallace knocked a triple going 2 for 2 in the game. Southern Nevada came within two runs in the 7th inning however two consecutive strikeouts by Zimmerman shut the door on the comeback.
Salt Lake will face the winner of Southern Nevada vs. Southern Idaho at 1:30 pm in the Championship game. Southern Nevada and Southern Idaho face off at 11:00 am to stay alive in the tournament.

Snow's Nicole Johnson allowed three hits and Allee Carter was 2 for 2 with an RBI. Western Nevada had the tying runs on base in the seventh inning when base running errors lead to the final out of the game. With the loss Western Nevada was knocked out of the tournament placing 6th.

North Idaho held a seven run lead into the bottom of the seventh and with two outs Southern Idaho rallied to score 10 runs to take the walk off win. With the loss North Idaho placed 5th in the tournament.

Southern Idaho scored five runs in the fifth inning to get past Snow College 6-2. Southern Idaho advances to face Southern Nevada a 11:00 am with the winner moving on to the Championship game.
