EPHRAIM, UT – The 2nd ranked SLCC Softball team powered past Snow College 5-0 & 3-1.  The Bruins are 45-7 overall and 37-3 in conference play.  Salt Lake clinched the Region 18th title and hosting rights for the Region 18 Tournament for the fifth year in a row with the two wins today.

 

Ariel Zimmerman went seven innings allowing four hits with 8 strikeouts in the 5-0 shout out win.  Krystin Jachim continued to hit the ball well going 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBI.  Savanah Webster launched a solo home run in the fifth inning to extend Salt Lake's lead.

 

Kylee Colvin got the win in game two going four innings allowing no earned runs and three hits while Zimmerman got her fourth save of the season throwing three innings with four k's.  Jachim led Salt Lake with a double, triple and two RBIs and Webster was 2 for 4 with an RBI. 

 

No. 2 Salt Lake will close out the regular season by hosting Colorado Northwestern next weekend.  On Saturday, May 7th the Bruins will honor their sophomores and hold their annual Swing for Life game.
