SALT LAKE CITY – The 5th ranked SLCC softball team defeated North Idaho College 10-4. The Bruins are 31-6 overall and 23-2 in conference play.
Ariel Zimmerman struck out nine batters while allowing three earned runs in the 10-4 win. The Bruins fell down 2-0 early but a three run home run by DJ Richardson stole the lead from North Idaho 3-2. North Idaho would tie the game up however Krystin Jachim (3 for 5, 3 RBI) blasted a solo home run to tie the game once again. The Bruins used two three run innings to put North Idaho away. Shay Wallace was 2 for 4 with a home run, Madi White went 2 for 2 and Savannah Webster was 2 for 3 with one RBI in the game.
No. 5 Salt Lake and North Idaho will resume their series tomorrow with a triple header starting at noon.
