YUMA, AZ- The SLCC Softball team finished the Great Western Shootout with three wins over El Paso (15-0), Golden West (9-1) and Phoenix (16-2). Salt Lake outscored opponents 40-3 compiling 39 hits. The wins takes Salt Lake's record to 8-4 overall as they open up SWAC play on February 9th in St. George, UT.
Dezlee Roberts picked up the win over El Paso College allowing three hits and zero runs. Krystin Jachim was 2-3, Madi White was 2-3 and DJ Richardson hit a solo home run. In the second game of the day three Bruin home runs secured the 9-1 win over Goldenwest College. Richardson hit a 2 run shot, White blasted a 3 run homer and Jachim added a solo home run.
In the final game Ariel Zimmerman struck out seven allowing three hits in the 16-2 win over Phoenix. Jachim hit a 2 run home run, Savannah Webster was 1-2 with a double, White drove in four runs going 2-4 with a double and Kylee Brinkerhoff was 3-3 with 2 RBI.
