No. 1 SLCC Slug their way to a Series sweep

SALT LAKE CITY (May 8, 2010) – The top ranked SLCC Bruin Softball team concluded the regular season undefeated at home after two wins against North Idaho. Salt Lake won both games in five innings winning 8-0 & 10-2. The Bruins are 56-3 overall and have clinched the SWAC title with a record of 44-3. 

Sarah Clark threw a two hit shutout in game one while the SLCC bats collected 15 team hits. Krystin Jachim was 2-3 with two RBIs and a double. Cyd Allen was 3-3 while Erika James hit an RBI triple. 

Once again the SLCC bats were hot with another 15 team hits in the final game of the series. Jordyn McDonald got her 27th win of the season allowing two earned runs. Erika James finished 3-4 with 2 RBI, Katelyn Elliott was 2-2 with two doubles and McDonald had two hits with two RBIs. 

No. 1 Salt Lake (56-3, 44-3 SWAC) will now host the Region 18 tournament beginning on Thursday May 13th at Bruin Field. The number one seeded Bruins will face with winner of North Idaho/Snow College.
