NO. 1 SLCC Softball wins 50th game

RANGLEY, Colorado (May 1, 2010) – The #1 ranked SLCC Bruin Softball team defeated Colorado Northwestern 11-0 and 12-0 today in Rangley Colorado. The two wins puts Salt Lake’s record at 50-3 overall and maintain their stronghold in the SWAC with a 38-3 record. In the opener, Salt Lake collected 10 hits while only allowing three. Sarah Clark threw four innings allowing two hits with six strikeouts. Jordyn McDonald was 3-3 with two doubles and three RBIs. Krystin Jachim finished 2-3 with a double and a solo home run and Katelyn Elliott hit a bases loaded double to drive in three runs. Game two started slow however Salt Lake scored six runs in the third inning to open up the scoring. Jordyn McDonald allowed one hit over four innings. Jachim continued to see the ball well going 3-4 at the plate with two doubles and two RBIs. Elliott was 1-2 with three RBIs and Madi White finished 2-2 with a double and two RBIs.
