No. 2 SLCC Splits with CSN on final day

HENDERSON, Nevada (April 10, 2010) – The second ranked SLCC Bruin Softball team split the final doubleheader against Southern Nevada. Salt Lake took the first game 10-0 in five innings and dropped the final game 6-9. Salt Lake’s record now stands at 44-3 overall and 32-3 in conference play. Jordyn McDonald gets the win allowing two hits with seven strikeouts. At the plate Salt Lake combined for 14 hits. Katelyn Elliott, Cyd Allen and McDonald combined for nine RBIs and nine hits. Elliott was 2-2 with three RBIs, Allen finished 4-4 with a home run and four RBIs and McDonald collected three hits with a double and a triple. In the final game of the series, Salt Lake opened up the first inning with five runs but was unable to add on losing 6-9. Sarah Clark got the loss allowing six hits. Clark finished 2-2 at the plate, Meranda Wood picked up two RBIs and Elliott drove home two runs. No. 2 Salt Lake (44-3, 32-3 SWAC) heads into the bye week and will return to the field to face Snow College April 23rd and 24th in Ephraim, Utah. SLCC 10 SLCC 6 CSN 0 CSN 9
