Salt Lake, Utah- The Bru Cru completed the four game sweep against Prairie Baseball Academy.
The No. 21 ranked Bruins defeated the Dawgs 16-7 in game three of the series. Salt Lake scored in every inning and took the lead once and for all after DH Willy Roberts second RBI single of the game gave SLCC a 8-7 lead. The Bruins scored six runs in the fifth inning to extend their lead. LHP Mason Green (1-0) got the win in relief and struck out three batters in 1.2 innings pitched. RHP Case Beames pitched two shutout innings to help the Bruins close out the game. Beames walked one and struck out four batters.
The Bruins finished the weekend with a 12-3 win. Prairie Baseball Academy led 2-1 after three innings, but the Bru Cru scored four runs in the fourth and seven runs in the fifth to pull away. 1B Grady Daniels hit a home run and a double as he finished with three RBI and three runs scored. CF Tyler West went 3-4 with two RBI and one run scored. SS Drew Smith and 3B Riley Brown both had a multi-hit game. RHP Zaylun Fenn got the start and went 4.2 innings. Fenn struck out three batters and gave up two runs.
