Salt Lake City, Utah- No. 21 SLCC Softball (15-7) won both games of Friday's doubleheader against Snow College (9-16).
The Bruins won the first game 10-7. Snow led early and after a solo home run in the top of the fourth, the Badgers lead was 5-2. Salt Lake scored five runs in the bottom half of the inning to claim the lead as 1B Hannah Barlow hit a three-run home run, and RF Jettlee Ioane and 3B Lafiana Fifita hit solo home runs. RHP Aubrie Hansen (3-4) got the win as she pitched three scoreless innings to end the game.
Salt Lake won game two 11-3 in six innings. The Bruins led 2-0 after two innings of play. The Badgers scored three unearned runs in the top of the fourth to take the lead. Another Barlow home run tied the game 3-3 in the bottom of the fourth. 2B Irma Medina gave the Bruins the lead in the fifth after an RBI single. Salt Lake erupted for seven runs in the bottom of the sixth and secured the victory.
Medina led Salt Lake with three RBI. SS Jazmine Prathan and CF Lahela Painter both went 2-4 and each drove in two runs. LF Taitumn Reynen was 3-3 with two walks. RHP Elliott Plewe (2-1) pitched all six innings for Salt Lake and struck out three batters.
