West Jordan, Utah- No. 20 Salt Lake Baseball (17-7) won both games of their Friday doubleheader versus Colorado Northwestern Community College (10-21).
The Bru won the first game 15-5 in five innings. The offenses poured in runs early as CNCC led 5-4 after two innings. The Bruins three runs in the bottom of the second came from home runs. RF Kade Gambill hit a solo home run and 3B Riley Brown hit a two-run homer.
The rest of the game was all Salt Lake and the Bruins put up ten runs on the bottom of the fourth. Salt Lake had 14 at-bats in the inning. SS Drew Smith hit an RBI single and an RBI double in the big inning. CF Tyler West, 3B Riley Brown, SS Drew Smith, and 2B Gage Wareham all recorded two RBI.
LHP Hudson Banks (1-0) picked up the win.
Salt Lake won game two 10-0 in six innings. RHP Collin Roos got his fourth win of the season as he tossed five scoreless innings and struck out seven batters. 1B Kaden Hodson went 3-4 with two RBI doubles. Salt Lake scored five runs in the second inning as West brought in two runs with a single and Smith hit a three-run blast. LF Tyler Davis ended the game with an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth.
