West Jordan, Utah- No. 20 Salt Lake Baseball (18-7) won the series finale 12-2 in five innings versus Colorado Northwestern Community College (10-22). The Bruins won three out of four to open SWAC play.
RHP Zaylun Fenn (2-0) allowed two runs in 4.1 innings pitched. Fenn got the win and had two strikeouts in the outing.
The Bruins scored three runs in the bottom of the first off two RBI groundouts and a bases loaded walk. Salt Lake plated three more runs in the second inning off a bunt single from 2B Gage Wareham and two more groundouts to first that each brought in a run.
The Bruins led 8-2 going into the bottom of the fifth. CF Tyler West hit an RBI double and Wareham added another RBI single. LF Lute Chavez hit an RBI double which ended the game.
