The Bru Cru Walk-Off Game One, Win Doubleheader Against the Okotoks Dawgs

Salt Lake, Utah- The No. 20 ranked Bruins (13-6) picked up two wins against the Okotoks Dawgs Baseball Academy.

Salt Lake won the first game 11-9 on a walk-off home run from Drew Smith. The Bruins got on the board in the third inning after a two-RBI double from Riley Brown. Greyson Martin brought in Brown on a sac-fly to give SLCC a 3-1 lead after two innings. The Dawgs took a 4-3 lead in the top of the fifth after a two-run home run, but Kade Gambill got the Bruins the lead back after a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth.

The Bruins added to their lead in the sixth off a two-run home run from Kaden Hodson and a solo shot from Gambill. Gambill's second blast of the game gave Salt Lake a 9-4 lead. That lead disappeared after a rough seventh inning for the Bruins pitching staff that saw the Dawgs put up five runs to tie the game. It only took two batters to end the game as Gage Wareham hit a leadoff double before Smith's two-run home run.

The Bru Cru won game two 11-1 in seven innings. The Dawgs scored the games first run in the second inning off Brayden Olson. Olson got the start for Salt Lake and struck out four batters out of the nine that he faced. Heber Jenkins took care of the next four outs and recorded three strikeouts. The bullpen continued to shine as Dylan Zullo, Nolan Tillitt, Thomas Young, and Tanner Walkenhorst all pitched one scoreless inning.

Willy Roberts hit a solo shot over the center field fence to tie the game 1-1. Roberts was 2-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. Lute Chavez had a bases clearing double in the fourth inning and an RBI single in the sixth. The Bruins had 13 hits in the game and scored five runs in the fourth inning and five runs in the sixth inning.
