Salt Lake, Utah- Salt Lake Men's Basketball (10-14) lost in overtime 79-68 to USU-Eastern (19-6).
The Bruins led by 18 at one point and were up 35-24 at the half. USU-Eastern battled back and took their first lead with 4:53 to go in the second half. Ike Palmer, who finished with 25 points to lead the Eagles, hit the game-winning shot with a second left in regulation until a player on the Eagle bench ran onto the court with 0.9 seconds left. The premature celebration resulted in a technical foul.
Danny Young Jr. hit both free-throws to send the 66-66 game into OT. 17 seconds into overtime Jaxon Heiden picked up his fifth foul and the Bruins got outscored 13-2 in the five minute OT.
Young Jr. also scored 25 points and Daye Kaba added 23 points going 8-16 from the field. The Bruins shot a dismal 5-35 on three-pointers and 21-67 (31.3%) overall.
